It happens most often at Christmas, during the spring holidays or in the middle of the ski season: you find the perfect dates, but Apartment Lesa is already booked. There is no need to look for somewhere on the other side of town. Right next to us, on the same street, is Apartment Sárka – a separate, cosily furnished place to stay in Brezno that we look after with the same care as Lesa.
In this article we show you what Sárka offers, who it suits best and how to book it. At the end you will also find tips on when it pays to rent both apartments at once.
Where to find Apartment Sárka
Sárka is at Československej armády 38, 977 01 Brezno, on the third floor of a residential building. Only a few dozen steps separate it from Apartment Lesa, so if your family or friends are staying in two apartments, you are never far apart.
The historic centre of Brezno is about 350 metres away. In five minutes on foot you reach M. R. Štefánik Square with its cafés, pastry shops, restaurants and shops. You can leave your car for free right in front of the building – there is no parking fee and no need to reserve a space.
Who Sárka is ideal for
The apartment is designed for 1 to 3 guests. It is most often chosen by:
- couples who want to combine a quiet stay in town with trips to the mountains,
- two or three friends on a ski trip or a hiking weekend in the Low Tatras,
- business travellers working in or around Brezno for several days or weeks,
- parents with a small child – we prepare a baby cot on request, just mention it when booking.
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at Sárka.
What awaits you in the apartment
Sárka is furnished so that you feel at home – whether you spend a single night in Brezno or stay for a whole week.
- A fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, dishes and everything you need to cook – breakfast and dinner are no problem.
- A living room with a double bed where you can rest after a day on the slopes or the trails.
- A washing machine available throughout your stay – handy on longer stays and after a rainy hike.
- A Smart TV with Netflix and plenty of channels.
- Free Wi-Fi – connect with a password or by scanning a QR code.
- Bed linen, towels and toiletries are included and ready for you on arrival.

Stays from one night, longer stays for less
You can rent Sárka for just one night – for example when you need a quiet place to sleep on your way across Slovakia. The nightly rate drops the longer you stay, so weekly and longer stays are the best value. Current rates are in the Sárka price list.
Check-in is from 14:00 to 22:00 and check-out is by 10:00. If you need a different arrival or departure time, just write to us and we will be happy to arrange it.
How to book Sárka
The apartmansarka.sk website has an online booking system with an availability calendar that is kept in sync with Booking.com. Booking takes three steps:
- Pick your arrival and departure day in the calendar – you will see the exact price straight away.
- Fill in your contact details and send a non-binding request. You will receive your reservation number by e-mail.
- We check the request and confirm it as soon as possible. The reservation becomes binding once it is confirmed.
You can pay for your stay in cash or by bank transfer. For longer stays or bookings made well in advance we may ask for a deposit – we will tell you the amount together with the confirmation.
Winter at Sárka: on the slopes in minutes
Brezno lies right below the Low Tatras, so from Sárka you are on your skis just as quickly as from Lesa. The nearest resorts are Tále, Mýto pod Ďumbierom, Krpáčovo and Čierny Balog, and the south side of Chopok and Čertovica are roughly 35 to 40 minutes by car. After skiing you will appreciate washing your wet gear in the washing machine and cooking dinner in the kitchen – or taking a walk into the centre for a hot soup and mulled wine.
Summer and autumn: hiking, cycling and day trips
Once the snow melts, the area around Brezno becomes a paradise for hikers and cyclists. From Sárka you can head up Ďumbier, the highest peak of the Low Tatras (tips for the climb are here), walk the ridge to Chopok or spend a day on Kráľova hoľa. Cyclists will enjoy the routes in the valleys around town – such as the Brezno – Srdiečko cycle route via Bystrá.
With children, the Čierny Hron forest railway in Čierny Balog, Bystrá Cave or the educational trail in the Vydrovo valley are well worth a visit. You will find more ideas in our article What to do in Brezno.
Brezno on foot
From both Sárka and Lesa the town centre is within easy reach, so Brezno is best explored on foot. Stroll around the historic square, stop by the Horehronie Museum in the old town hall and try the local cuisine in one of the nearby restaurants. If you are planning a summer stay, check the programme of the Brezno Town Days; at the end of November the St Andrew's Fair draws the crowds.
Sárka and Lesa together: room for a bigger group
Travelling in a larger group, with your parents or with a work team? Rent Apartment Lesa and Apartment Sárka at the same time. You get two completely separate apartments, each with its own kitchen, bathroom and privacy, while staying just a few steps apart. Meet at the car in the morning and at a shared dinner in the evening – and everyone still has a quiet place to sleep.
The combination works well for companies too: colleagues on an installation job or a training course get their own space, yet stay together and park in front of the same building.

Both apartments share the same convenient location, the same arrival and departure times and the same personal approach. Choose based on what matters to you:

Tip: if your dates are taken in one apartment, look at the other one's calendar. That way you can often find availability even at the busiest times.
